Term Meaning in the CUE/IO context
Art-Net Transport of DMX data over a UDP/IP network; default port 6454
sACN ANSI E1.31 transport of DMX over an IP network; default port 5568
Universe A logical group of up to 512 DMX channels
DMX channel One value from 0–255 within a universe
Broadcast Sending a packet to all recipients on the relevant subnet
Unicast Sending a packet to a specific IP address
LTC Linear Timecode—HH:MM:SS:FF time encoded in an audio signal
Cue A Timecode rule that starts or stops a show at a specific time
FPS Timecode frames per second or DMX generation rate
RECORD CUE/IO mode for recording Art-Net and optional audio
TIMECODE Mode for listening to LTC and playing cues
PLAYER Mode for manually playing a saved show
mDNS Local name discovery without a DNS server, for example cueio.local
Fallback AP Fallback Wi-Fi access point used for recovery
DHCP Automatic IP configuration from a network server/router
Static IP Operator-defined IP, subnet, gateway, and DNS configuration
Rollback Restoring the previous software release when update verification fails
RTC Real-time hardware clock; here, the optional DS3231
NTP Time synchronization from a trusted network source
Scheduler occurrence One specific run of a schedule rule
Warmup Optional first show in a startup Show Sequence
Main Show Main show in a startup Show Sequence
Loop Repeated show playback until Stop or the end of a schedule
Trim Identical trimming of the Art-Net and audio start/end boundaries
Output preview Real Art-Net/audio playback of a trim interval to the outputs
Benchmark Internal packet/audio load test for estimating safe capacity
Safe universe count Strictly verified full-cycle level without packet/audio errors
